I spotted some of the handmade cards I'd designed at Portico Designs at the new Clintons store this weekend, they have completely re-branded and it looks very different! These cards have foil, flitter (card industry word for glitter - no idea why it's different!!) pad-on's and gems.

Ripe Digital are an amazing printers based near me in Bath and were an amazing help donating prints to the charity exhibition I organised and curated last year, hellohead.
They specialise in small print runs and are always working on some lovely things for all of the top illustrators and designers.
So was nice to see the candle packaging they print for The Country Candle Company as a case study on their site here. The world of design is a small one!

A while ago I worked on some branding for a new shop selling clothing and gifts for babies & children 'Herbert & Stella'.
Now they have the website up and some lovely pictures of the signage they created, website and even branded balloons!
I spotted my Hope & Glory Calendar for the first time this weekend! Designed at Portico Designs, there is also a Slim Calendar and Slim Diary to go alongside the greetings card range.

I don't usually do 'personal' posts, used to updating on the various bits and pieces of illustration and design I've been working on, but I'd thought I'd share a bit of what has been going on recently in my house. Two kittens named George (the white one) and Boo (silver tabby) were collected on our 2nd wedding anniversary and are very distracting!
It was my husband's 30th birthday recently too so his card naturally had to feature them, plus a pirate outfit (he is the drummer in The Pirate Ship Quintet.)
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you'll already know I've been very busy this summer ( if you can call this wet thing a summer!) organising and curating a project called hellohead. What started out as a portrait swap between friends to practice drawing people, became a huge monster of a project which now has 60 illustrators involved, with each name being put into a hat and paired with each other at random and illustrated in their own unique style. There are some absolutely fantastic portraits that have been produced, if you haven't seen them go and have a look! It's all in aid of the National Autistic Society where I am a volunteer, the exhibition is being held at XOYO in London 23.08.2012 - you can keep up to date with information if you'd like to on the hellohead Facebook page and blog too. More of that soon!
I'm going back to 'work' now with the kittens! L x

I recently designed a banner for photographer Chrissy and her lovely blog 'Our Little Love' which is all about her gorgeous family and new baby girl Esme. Chrissy seems to love everything that I do, so I had fun including illustrations of mushrooms, owls, buttons, birds, teacups and bell jars!
